Web design is an incredibly tricky field – if you don’t get it just right, your website could very well fail. There are a number of pitfalls that you should try and avoid when it comes to quality web design. The following piece will take a closer look at two of these:

Vague Design or Message

The user needs to figure out what your website is all about in a matter of seconds. The last thing that any user wants is to spend a few minutes trying to figure out exactly what it is that your website is trying to convey. The user is more than likely going to head elsewhere to find a similar product or service if they find that your website isn’t as user friendly as it should be.

Don’t Force the User to register unless it is Absolutely Necessary

Most users spend their time browsing the net in order to get information – it shouldn’t work the other way around. Don’t force the user to register and leave their contact details unless it is absolutely necessary. If the user feels that they are being forced to register for information that is freely available on other websites, chances are they’ll head off and find the information elsewhere.
