I am currently presenting to the top performing WSI Internet Marketing Consultants on the uses of blogging and twitter for business. This group is really experienced so I don’t need to explain blogging in much detail.

An interesting search term that I found today; “ is wsi internet consulting a scam ? ” Well anyone who is in attendance here today will know that we are a proud group and certainly an Internet Marketing company that achieves some outstanding results for our customers.

How do I start blogging?

Many people ask me “what is a blog?” and “how to post a blog?” I thought it would be best to demonstrate how I create a blog post and then see how soon it gets read after being published.

I start by loading the SEO Blogger Firefox plug-in from Wordtracker and select keywords that will help me optimize my blog post while writing it.

We are using WordPress so the first thing I do is view how many users are online before I post my blog content. As soon as I publish the post I will return to the dashboard and see whether there is an increase in the number of users.

Hopefully I will get an improvement in the number of  users to prove my point. Let’s see how it goes.

Paris Internet Marketing Summit

A quick update on the WSI Paris Internet Marketing summit.

We had a great turnout thanks to Gilles Dandel and the support of his IC group.

For the Internet Marketing Summit we had just over 40 attendees and among them were some 12 franchisee prospects.

I was the last speaker and that is always difficult as Gilles Dandel, Frederic Poifol & Philippe Thoniel presented some great material on search engine optimisation, Pay Per click marketing and social media marketing.

I really had to concentrate hard as I was the only English speaker and had to figure out what the previous French speakers has presented, but all went well.

These presenters demonstrated the many ways to get visitors to your website and my presentation covered what was required to convert those visitors into prospects.

As usual I focussed on Content Marketing as I am a big believer that this is best way to build an asset from one’s website.

It was great to have Ron McArthur with us for the entire two days. He opened the summit and presented some interesting stats on how marketing spend on the Internet has now surpassed TV & Radio in the USA and soon in the UK.

The next day & a half I presented most of the training that we had done in Spain that was so successful.

Up selling Strategies for WSI Internet Consultants

I met Marvin Himel 3 weeks ago in Toronto where we were working on new a new training curriculum for WSI Internet Consultants. We have developed an exciting Digital Media Professional’s training that will leapfrog WSI Consultants ahead of their competitors.

Marvin is our sales trainer and mentor to many ICs and 2 years ago he put me through the paces in his ‘train the trainer’ program. I must say that it was stressful but well worth the experience.

Anyway Marvin invited me to present at his Power Hour session where he invites guest speakers. He calls the session “Lessons from the Masters” Examples of up-selling by Francois Muscat. I am flattered to be called a master.

I presented my overall strategy on how I run and grow my WSI franchise. My business model is one of recurring revenue and the way to achieve this is to provide ongoing Internet Marketing services that achieve measurable results.

I like my clients to recognize me as their online marketing partner who adds value to their business. So one way that I demonstrate this is to work on a month to month basis, with no contracts for any of my online marketing services. I guess that is my way of putting my money where my mouth is. Finally the best way that you build credibility and generate quality leads is to do small educational seminars. I have found this to be a great way to develop my business as there is no hard sale. The prospects choose you based on their impression of your ability.

I love using mind maps as they help to display information in logical way and it helps show the connectivity between the presentation subjects.

Thank you for a terrific webinar today. I also listened to your talk with Darren Kincaid last week and you provide so much useful information for us newer ICs, they really should put you into our initial training.

I meet Jeffrey Eisenberg –Author of Waiting for Your Cat to Bark

During one of our lunch breaks at our WSI Excellence & Innovation convention I had the pleasure of sharing a table with Jeffrey. He is really approachable and a pleasant guy to talk to. We spoke about his book, Waiting for your cat to bark and discussed the persuasion ideas that he presented during his keynote speech.

He makes a couple of good points on what makes visitors take action on websites. If they are motivated to get the content then it doesn’t really matter how bad the navigation is. But, if you are competing against sites that have great content that people want, then you really need to work on your persuasion strategies, such as using contrasting colours in your “call to actions”

I was also with my good friend Ronnie Adelman, one of the original WSI ambassadors and my mentor. Ronnie is a well known speaker on the WSI circuit and is currently arranging a Digital World Tour where the top WSI Internet Consultants will present. He plans to hold these conferences in 36 countries worldwide. He loves to travel and I am hoping to join him on a few of these conferences.

Ronnie & I are planning to hold one of the Digital World Tour conferences in South Africa next year and with a bit of arm twisting we are on the way to getting Jeffrey to present with us in South Africa. Hopefully in May 2010.
