Social media is crucial when leveraging its benefits for digital marketing strategy. Sometimes, it’s easy to forget the fact that so many people are spending their time on social media networks like Facebook. On average, there’s an estimate of 2,7 billion Facebook users around the world. Given those statistics, we wanted to help you by focusing on how to use their adverts to your benefit.
Social media marketing not only includes written content and videos, but also ads. Facebook ads help you to reach your targeted audience as well as to improve engagement. To create effective ads there are a few things to consider.
How to Improve Digital Marketing with Facebook Ads:
Optimising your ads is a pivotal part of marketing so that viewers can find it. It is thus an important starting point especially for creating reach. Optimising adverts for mobile and computer use will play a role in how many people actually see your ad.
Your brand is the heart and soul of your business, and how well it does depends on the marketing strategies. As a part of your strategy to get your viewers to know your brand better, you’ll need to market it with every opportunity you get. You can market your brand through your Facebook ad.
CTAs or simply known as “Call To Action” words is naturally an important method of persuasion. It is especially good to use if you want your audience to feel convinced that they really need to get in touch or sign up for a free newsletter. Make sure that your ad includes this vital element.
When creating a Facebook ad, it’s best to keep the language simple to encourage proper understanding. This will make it easier for your viewers to see your ad. It will also help viewers to know what you have to offer and how this item or service will benefit them.

Talk About a Discount (How the Viewer Can Save)
People appreciate being privy to the price of an item, so if you’re selling something, tell them what they’ll get as a discount. Discounts usually encourage potential customers to buy, and thus they almost always increase sales.

Paid advertising can be a great way to boost your social media marketing strategy. However, there’s an art to getting it right. Here are three helpful tips for successfully optimising paid advertising on Facebook, courtesy of the digital marketing experts at WSI OMS.
Understand Message Matching
There is no doubt that you would like to get the best possible results for the least amount of money, right? Well, the key to this is to understand what message matching is and to use it to your advantage. In other words, match your advertising pitch to your targeted audience’s level of readiness. For example, do not try to encourage your audience to purchase something if they have yet to discover your brand as a whole.
Build Your Audience
It is no use trying to sell to an audience of followers that does not exist. Therefore, when first starting out, angle your Facebook ads to encourage people to follow you, rather than trying to push for conversions. This will help you to build your audience and is sure to lead to improved interest and conversions in the future.
Try Split Testing
Keep your ads fresh and powerful by split testing to see which big changes lead to conversion-lifts. Do not change minor aspects of the ad, such as a word here or there or the background colour of your image. Make larger, more noticeable changes, like using a custom photo and then a video to push the same message/objective.
If the world of paid advertising and social media marketing has become too complicated to manage, there is always the option of hiring a reputable digital marketing company to manage it for you. Contact WSI OMS today to learn more.

Facebook Ads are perhaps the best form of online advertising around today. Why is that? Facebook has over 2 billion users around the world, and because Facebook collects so much data from these users, including you and me, you can leverage that data to reach potential customers.
The key is to run targeted ads on Facebook. And, you can do that by building custom ads through the Facebook Ads Manager platform. There are a couple things you can do to achieve this:
If you have a CRM or an email list of any kind, you can import that data into Facebook. Whenever you run ads (even if your ad budget is as little as R100 or R200), you can ensure that the ads you run are seen by the right audience. The biggest mistake that marketers make is throwing money at Facebook without running targeted ads.
If you are a real estate agent, for example, consider targeting first-time home buyers or people who have enquired about properties. You have the data at your fingertips, so use it wisely.
Are you buying clicks, engagement, views or leads? Make sure your ads are not only targeted at the right audience, but also that the ads speak to your objective. If you are spending money on Facebook ads, you should not just throw your money away to get views or comments on a video. Have a clear objective in mind. What you want are buyers. So, make sure your objective is tailored to what your end game is.

In October, Facebook rolled out a new feature that will allow users to post photos with 3D effects to their feeds. Despite the name, however, the photos won’t be fully 3D. You won’t, for example, be able to tilt your phone’s screen to see a picture of your dog from different angles.
The reason why Facebook is calling it “3D” photos is because the feature gives pictures a certain amount of depth. Facebook describes the new feature as being able to look at your photograph as if the object is standing still behind a window.
Not everyone will be able to post 3D photos on Facebook. For starters, you will need a phone with dual cameras. Only iPhone 7+ phones or more recent versions have this functionality on their phone.
Back in May, Facebook vaguely announced that it was planning on launching a 3D option. Soon, users will see a “3D photo” option within the list of post options when they go to make a status update. Some pictures are truly enhanced by the 3D option, while others don’t look too much different. The new feature is still a work in progress, and we look forward to seeing how the social media giant will improve these functionalities in the future.

It is important to have more than one person assigned to manage your Facebook business page in case the profile of the person who created the page is ever compromised. Under the Page Roles tab in Settings, you can choose different roles such as Admin, Editor, Moderator, Advertiser, Analyst and Live Contributor. These roles give people varying degrees of access to page functions. Include at least two administrators to manage all aspects of the page and add the rest of the roles as needed.
Under page settings, you can set the public’s ability to tag photos, post to your page, and reach out to you via private message. Allowing people to post to your page and tag photos is a great way to allow your online community to interact with your brand, but this may require a lot of moderation. Consider whether you will have a full-time moderator checking the content to your page before you enable this setting. We would advise disabling this feature if you are not able to moderate your Facebook business page daily.
If you choose to allow people to post to your page, you can take pre-emptive measures to filter out inappropriate content or posts. The Profanity Filter in the settings tab blocks offensive language. Under the Page Moderation setting, you can block specific words so that comments and posts including these words are automatically marked as spam. If you see a competitor with an impressive Facebook strategy, you can learn from them by using the feature “Pages to Watch”, which is located under the Insights tab.

After you have checked your internet speed and set up all the equipment you need for your Facebook Live stream, you will need to do a test broadcast. Here is what to do:
- Press the Live button but make sure the Live Broadcast is going only to you. In the Facebook settings, you get to choose who the broadcast is going to. There is an option to broadcast to “Only Me” which means that nobody else will be able to see it. During this test, make sure that the background looks good, that the lighting is sufficient, that your audio sounds good and everything is set up the way you want it.
- If you are doing Facebook Live for sales or promotional purposes, do a quick run through of the content that you are going to be presenting during your test broadcast. That way, you will feel more relaxed and you can also watch the test broadcast to give you some feedback before you go live to the public.
- Tell people that you are about to go live. This can be as simple as posting a few tweets, Instagram updates or Facebook status updates that you are about to go live. When you start talking, deliver the hook of your content so that people are immediately engaged.
