The last thing you want to do when you go live on Facebook is tweaking and changing things. Here is how to set up your equipment for Facebook Live:
Before you start filming, make sure you have at least a 2 to 2.5 Mbps for Facebook Live. Be aware of other people who may be sharing your internet connection. If you are in an office, other people may start downloading files, which can slow down your internet speed significantly. If your internet speed is less than 2 to 2.5 Mbps, you should either try to find a different internet connection or use LTE instead of Wi-Fi. If there’s no way to get a faster internet speed, then be sure to let your viewers know that you may experience problems because you are not sure about the internet speed in your location.
Set up things like your camera, your tripod (if you are using one), and make sure that everything is at the right height and stable. Check your audio and your lighting before you start filming. You do not need any special gear beyond your phone’s camera, but if you are going to be doing Facebook Live streams regularly, you might want to consider investing in a portable microphone and a mini tripod so that you are getting your phone out of your hands and into a stable position.
If you are using a Mac or a PC to go live, you can use similar gear. You can simply use your Facebook browser to go live or you can use software such as Ecamm Live, OBS or Wirecast. There are many options for Facebook Live, but no matter which way you are going, the important thing is to make sure everything is set up correctly.

Facebook Live is a great way to engage with your online community. Here are a few tips to get professional results from your Facebook Live posts:
You will need a simple structure of everything you want to cover in your live stream. Your structure will have a hook, which is what you will say before the introduction (it is the thing that hooks your viewer to stick around for your live stream). Your introduction will touch on the things you want to cover in your video. After you have delivered the content, be sure to have a recap to summarise everything that you have said and a call to action, which is the next step you want your viewers to take after watching your Facebook Live stream.
You want to pick a location that matches the videos you are creating. Choose a place that is quiet and out of the way because you do not want to be distracted or interrupted while you are filming.
- Check Your Internet Connection
At the very least, you need to have an understanding of how good or how bad your internet connection is. Go to Speedtest.net and run a speed test for the internet connection that you are connected to. The most important thing to look for is that your internet is stable as well as the upload speed.

Running Facebook ads and promoting posts for a single business is pretty straightforward, but when you start to manage multiple ad accounts on Facebook, things can quickly become tricky.
The best way to manage multiple business pages and advertising accounts on Facebook is to use Facebook Business Manager. This lets business managers more successfully share and control access to their ad accounts, pages and other assets on Facebook.
Anyone in a business can see all the pages and ad accounts that they work on in one place with Facebook Business Manager without sharing login information or being connected to their co-workers on Facebook. Business Manager is also a great resource for digital marketing agencies that run Facebook ads for multiple clients and it’s also a great resource for companies who have multiple employees working within the same ad account or on the same Facebook page.
Another reason to use Facebook Business Manager is that it is a great way to keep your account information safe. To learn more Facebook Business Manager and to set up your account, visit https://business.facebook.com.

It’s one thing to have engagement on your Facebook page, but it can be a whole different ballgame to get people to click away from your page and visit your website. Here are a few things that you can do to drive traffic to your website from Facebook:
- Create a post
Sometimes it is helpful to experiment with different types of posts. You may find, for example, that people are more likely to click on your post if you have shared something to Facebook via a link share (as opposed to adding a link within a status update). You can check this data by using a link shortener such as bit.ly that will provide you with link activity information.
Another thing to experiment with is the different times of posting. See how your engagement varies if you post a link early in the day versus later in the afternoon.
- Promote to fans
Once you have created a post, you need to promote your post to people who have liked your page. When you promote your post to fans, you will be able to ensure that around 30% of your fans see the post within their news feeds (as opposed to only 10 – 15% of people).
- Promote to non-fans
You can look into strategically promoting your posts to people who haven’t already liked your Facebook page. To make sure you are targeting relevant people, you can specify precise interests or other relevant information when choosing who should see the post. Custom audiences are also a great way to ensure the right people are seeing your posts. You can create a custom audience of your email subscribers, for example, for this.

About three months ago, Facebook changed its algorithm again and many people want to know what this means for their Facebook Business Page and how it will affect the reach of the content they post on Facebook.
The idea behind Facebook’s algorithm update is to go about removing corporate or public content from their site. When they announced the update, Facebook said that it is shifting the focus of its news feed to promote “meaningful” posts, mostly those shared by family and friends rather than news organisations or brands. Many businesses are rightfully worried because this change in algorithm could spell trouble for the ecosystem of brands that have come to rely on Facebook for revenue.
The truth is that this change isn’t as new as Facebook would want people to believe. Facebook has been removing organic reach from business pages for the past two years, so the reach that you are getting isn’t going to taper off significantly. The new change is mostly directed at news companies such as the New York Times, Buzzfeed and Vox to pay to market their news stories on this platform. Facebook essentially wants to make sure that the news posts that end up in your timeline are shared from your friends and family (in other words, real people) as opposed to news organisations marketing their news into Facebook news feeds.

As any company with a Facebook page knows, getting people to like and follow your page isn’t as easy as you think it might be. If you’ve already let your clients and employees know about your Facebook page, then it’s time start thinking a bit broader to find relevant new fans.
While there are tricks to getting tons of fans, these often don’t have sustainable or good effects on your business (paying people to like your page, for example, will only lead to a bunch of people in perhaps different countries liking your page and these followers will never convert to paying clients). It’s extremely important for you to focus on attracting an audience that will bring you business.
One thing that you can do is create a very simple Facebook Page Like Ad. The copy and the imagery need to appeal to your target audience and ask them to like your page. If possible, offer something of value in return for liking your page.
The targeting of these ads is very important. With custom audiences, you can target your offline audiences on Facebook. You can use your email list or your phone number list to tell Facebook who the ads should appear to. Once you have created this list, you can have Facebook find users who are similar to those on your list so that you can broaden your audience. This tool is called “lookalike audiences”.
Another way to target relevant people is to use the “website custom audiences” tool. This enables Facebook to show your ads to people who have visited your website in the past.
